Beginning January 8, 2025, through 2026, construction will take place at SeaTac Airport Station to add a new elevator to the pedestrian bridge. The new elevator will provide an additional option for passengers to travel from the pedestrian bridge to the pickup/drop off parking lot adjacent to the station. During construction, passengers can expect pedestrian walkways to occasionally be blocked or narrowed, and access to the current elevator periodically interrupted.
During times where pedestrian walkways are blocked and elevator access is unavailable, passengers may catch the Rapid Ride A Line bus from SeaTac Airport Station to Tukwila International Boulevard Station in order to use the 1 Line.
The pedestrian bridge from the station to the airport will be unaffected and available throughout the duration of this project.
Beginning February 10, 2025 half of the passenger pick up/drop off area will be closed, as will some parts of the plaza near the stairs and existing elevator as equipment begins to come in for construction of the new elevator.
Additional information about changes in elevator accessibility will be provided as it comes available. - Update: 1 Line trains are arriving about every 15-20 minutes until further notice due to higher than normal temperatures.
Passengers travelling to the Seatac Airport from Tukwila Int'l Blvd Station are encouraged to take Rapid Ride A line and plan ahead for additional travel time.

The FIFA Club World Cup 2025 will bring six matches to Lumen Field between June 15 and June 25, marking the first time the U.S. hosts the tournament. With up to 150,000 visitors expected over ten days, Sound Transit anticipates a surge in ridership, particularly on the 1 Line, where regular commuters should prepare for crowded trains. To accommodate demand, weekday Sounder schedules will see adjustments, along with additional trips on select Sound Transit Express routes to enhance service.
Due to this international tournament, riders will need to plan for extra time as we manage services to support ridership.
To view event service, please visit the link below and click on the individual event dates under Club World Cup Event Service section.
Please note that the Sounder schedule is being readjusted, this includes canceling some trips to reallocate train resources to provide event service.
For full schedule and detailed timings, visit: https://www.soundtransit.org/worldcup - 1 and 2 Lines could experience delays due to high temperatures forecasted over the next few days.
During times of excessive heat, it is required that train tracks are inspected frequently and Light Rail trains operate at a reduced speed. While necessary precautions to take for public safety, these factors will cause some delays to the system. - 1 Line trains will run test operations during regular service on Friday, June 13 from 5 AM to 9 AM. Please check train head signs before boarding.
Test trains will run between Lynnwood and Stadium on 4-minute headways in both directions alongside regular service. Trains with "Out of Service" head signs will briefly pause at stations but doors will remain closed. This testing will help us prepare for more frequent service once the 2 Line crosses Lake Washington and extends to Lynnwood City Center.
During the testing hours, we will not display estimated train arrival times on the overhead digital signs. - Angle Lake Station will close early on weeknights for system integration testing.
Angle Lake Station will close early on weeknights to allow crews to conduct Federal Way Link Extension Systems Testing. The nightly closures will occur from 10 p.m. until the start of service but will not affect the parking garage, which will remain open for transit users.
