- From Aug. 10, 2026, through Feb. 15, 2027, parking capacity will be reduced at Kent Sounder Station Garage due to construction.
Passengers can continue to park in the garage and access Kent Sounder Station throughout construction.
This project will repair and improve the garage’s concrete structure to help maintain a safe and reliable facility for riders.
Parking Level 5 is now open, and work on Level 4 is scheduled to begin October 13. Please remain aware of construction activities and follow all posted signage when entering or moving through the garage.
We understand that construction may cause some inconvenience to your daily commute, and we appreciate your patience and understanding as this important work moves forward. We’ll continue to share updates as more information becomes available.
Subscribe to Rider Alerts to receive the latest information and updates about construction impacts. - Starting Oct. 14, the Sumner Station surface parking lot on Narrow Street will be closed, except for four ADA-accessible parking spaces. New parking spaces on Harrison Street will open on Oct. 12.
The surface lot closure will remain in effect until construction of the new parking garage on Harrison Street is complete.
New parking spaces will become available adjacent to the new garage beginning Monday, Oct. 12. Alternative parking is also available at the Puyallup Station parking garage and surface lot.

S Line - Starting Monday, March 16, Sound Transit will close Kent Station’s northwest Sounder surface parking lot.
The only available spots for this lot will be three ADA parking spots. This closure will last the duration of this project phase. We expect this phase to be completed in December 2026. We encourage drivers to use the existing Kent garage at W Smith St and 1st Ave N.
